5 WAYS TO BE MORE PRODUCTIVE

Sometimes we do not know when time slips away. We wake up and before we know it, minutes have passed, hours have gone by and just in a snap of a finger, the day is over and you realise that you haven’t really been productive all day. In today’s post, I’m going to talk about how we can make good use of our time to be more efficient and productive at home, school or in a place of work.

     1. BE A MORNING PERSON
The first step to being productive is being a morning person. A lot of people dislike the thought of waking up in the morning even though it’s something to be thankful for. I know you want to sleep some more but darling, you get out of bed. Studies have shown that waking up at the same time everyday is good for productivity. Say your mantra. Drink water or have a cup of coffee. Do a little at home exercise. Shower and have a nice and healthy breakfast. As you do that, think of your goals and tasks you want to achieve and how you can accomplish them.
     2. PROPER PLANNING

Planning is a very important factor. You have your goals/task in mind. That’s great. Now is time for you to plan and set your priorities giving high priority to the important tasks and scheduling the less important ones for later. Make a to-do list. Set reminders especially if you are the type that is forgetful. There are apps that can handle this sort of situations e.g the Evernote. The planner that comes with your phone can as well work. Set a concrete amount of time (deadline) to get each task done. Target the tough ones and get them done quickly. It draws you closer to victory.

 

     3. AVOID PROCASTINATION

Procrastination is a disease that kills productivity. Don’t sit around and wait. Start immediately. Time waits for no one. The more you use your time for useful things, the more you will achieve.

 

     4. BE POSITIVE MINDED

Having the right attitude towards your work is a choice and a decision we have to make. Try as much as possible to stay away from negative vibes and influences. Don’t listen to that voice in your head saying “you can’t handle it”. Rather listen to your heart and believe you can achieve whatever you set your heart and mind to do whether big or small. Take charge of your thoughts and do what you want with them. Practice emptying your mind of all unhealthy thoughts. You won’t regret it.

 

    5. GIVE YOURSELF A BREAK

Take some time off. Cut yourself some slack. Believe it or not it helps increase productivity. Just take 5 to 10 minutes break and then come back to your work. Adding a little bit of fun to it wouldn’t hurt too. Work can be stressful sometimes at least have fun and be happy while doing it. Don’t bore yourself.

Productivity is not really easy to achieve but it’s definitely rewarding and it’s worth a chance.
